Different eating disorders require different kinds of treatment. Not only might different approaches be more suitable to certain types, they will also depend on the sufferer and their needs. Whereas individual treatment is important and necessary, we at xxx believe that having a supportive community around you with whom you can share your experiences, is important to the road of recovery. This is a list of some of the more common forms of individual treatment for eating disorders. There are many more forms of treatment out there and the one suitable for you will be agreed upon between you and your counsellor.

Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy’ refers to a range of psychotherapeutic techniques (talking therapies) designed to help people change how they think (cognitive), and how they act (behaviour), and to help them make sense of problems by systematically breaking them down into a more manageable form.

Interpersonal psychotherapy (IPT)
